What is the Healthy House Service (HHS)?

This site is to help educate anyone who is concerned about the ’health’ of their house. More people are becoming aware that indoor pollution from chemicals, radiation, electricity (electro-stress) and underground influences (geopathic stress) is a serious health issue, particularly for small children. For years, office blocks have been acknowledged as having ‘sick building syndrome’, but homes have been neglected, even though they are often the most unhealthy place of all.

The HHS is the product of many years of study and experience of the many issues that go into detecting a ‘sick’ home, and then fixing it. We can retrofit any house with the installations needed to improve its ’healthiness’ and optimum functioning (power, cooling and water systems). It also includes the very desirable possibility of preventing any issues from the earliest design stages of building and siting a house, by making sure the house is built of the healthiest materials, with the best design of the systems of power, cooling and water.

What is involved in retro-fitting a house/office?

Any house or office can be retro-fitted in such a way that there are major improvements in the health of the home environment, its sustainability, and its general systems for power and water. What’s more these changes will save you money in the long run.

We provide installations and modifications that reduce the effects of electro-stress, geopathic stress, EMF radiation, ‘dirty’ electricity, underground water.

We advise on changes/modifications to electricity wiring and installations (which will save health, energy and money). This may involve using the latest in technology to totally control the systems in your house - heating, lighting, power, irrigation, etc. This level of control means greater efficiency and savings. Note that we do not recommend use of wireless (wi-fi) systems, but rather recommend the various cabled systems that can use the electrical cabling of the house which is already installed.

We provide a method of turning your tap water to spring water by filtering and ‘energizing’ or ‘structuring’ all the water that enters the property. This includes all the water you drink, use in the house and garden, shower in, etc.

We make suggestions on arrangements of furniture, particularly arrangements of beds to optimise sleeping patterns and restfulness.

We make suggestions on removing/altering any electronic devices which are causing stress in the home, such as fluorescent lights, transformers and wasteful halogen downlights, etc.

We make suggestions regarding power and water issues and can design a solar system for alternative power, and electricity bill reduction. We can also advise/design a water catchment system to harvest your rainwater, and ways to use this water in the garden/laundry/bathroom to reduce water bills.

We also advise on chemicals in the home, how to minimise them and reduce ambient toxicity, how to replace chemicals with better-functioning natural products and processes for cleaning, etc.

What is involved in designing a house from the ground up for optimum living?

All of the modifications mentioned above for retro-fitting an existing house apply to a house designed based on these principles of sustainability, healthfulness, and economy.

Furthermore, there is scope for properly surveying the site so that the house and its various functions are best suited for the block. This means paying close attention to the underground influences (water, minerals, fractures, residues, etc.), the landscape features (water run-off, topography, Feng Shui influences, etc.) and ambient energetic influences (cell-phone towers, ambient EMFs, etc.). A survey is done taking all this into consideration for advice to the architect/designers who can then optimise the design of the building according to these principles.

Design will also include cutting-edge approaches to the best principles of sustainability, energy management, power management, passive solar design and beauty and restfulness. The principles of ‘Building Biology’ are followed, along with attention to various systems of Geomancy, such as western tradition geomancy, Feng Shui where appropriate, and so on.
